PhotoArtist lets you turn digital photographs into images that resemble paintings. It imitates not only the look of painting but also its method: you choose a style, then apply colors with a special brush to the on-screen canvas.
If you're in a hurry, PhotoArtist can generate automatic effects, but if you have time to spare you can use the mixers and manipulators to achieve exactly the effect you want.

Although PhotoArtist has limited functionality for serious artists, nonetheless it's a lot of fun, and is particularly good for borderless portraits in which the subject blends into a plain white background.
PhotoArtist is also sold by Shortcut Software as Shortcut PhotoArtist -- and you can find it on many download sites.
