The Association of Photographers
With the strapline "Bringing Photographers Together," the UK-based Association of Photographers (AOP) is building a worldwide network to do exactly that. It campaigns on behalf of photographers, encourages them to pursue lifelong education, and liaises with other educational organisations.

AOP provides careers information, operates a Job Shop, and has a gallery at 81 Leonard Street, London. Its website has an excellent listing of current and upcoming photographic exhibitions in the UK. Here, too, you will find plenty of FREE forms (agent/photographer agreement, invoice template, reusage guidelines, and so on), all of them useful to budding freelance photographers.
Awards
The AOP Awards are among the most prestigious in the photographic industry. The awards have an Open category for allcomers including amateurs, as well as categories for professional members, assistants, and students.
