Advertising Photographers of America
The goal of the Advertising Photographers of America is "to establish, endorse, and promote professional practices, standards, and ethics in the photographic and advertising community." The APA has worked to advance fair and equitable terms in contracts and purchase orders.
Local chapters of the APA play an educational role, holding seminars and workshops. Helpfully, the association produces standardized business forms and forms software, downloadable free of charge to members.
Benefits
Among the many benefits offered by APA are national and regional educational programs and networking events. At some of these events, photographers can link up with leading art directors, art buyers and other professionals in face-to-face meetings.

Professional forums online include APAnet, which focuses on the business of advertising photography. It is FREE and open to photographers, assistants, and students, both APA members and non-members alike.
