Aperture Foundation

Founded in 1952 by photographers Ansel Adams, Dorothea Lange, Barbara Morgan and Minor White, together with historian Beaumont Newhall and writer/curator Nancy Newhall, Aperture Foundation is a not-for-profit arts institution dedicated to advancing fine photography.

It is headquartered at 547 West 27th Street, New York, where it has a 3,000-square-foot gallery.

Magazine

"Aperture" magazine presents some of the finest images currently being made. It is available in good metropolitan bookstores. You can also subscribe to it online and order back issues.

Activities

Other Aperture Foundation activities include traveling exhibitions, an educational program with lectures and panel discussions, book publishing, and print sales. The Aperture Foundation website has an outstanding collection of available prints.
