Bureau of Freelance Photographers
Established in 1965 to help freelance and aspiring freelance photographers sell their pictures, the Bureau of Freelance Photographers (BFP) is based in the UK but has both UK and overseas members.
It publishes a newsletter with market leads, an annual Market Handbook, and also runs an advisory service.
Education
The BFP invites members to use its 18-lesson home study course: "Learn to become a selling photographer!" Other publications include "The Freelance Photographer's Project Book," with tips on how to take pictures that sell. Members also have access to advisory and mediation services, should these be required.
Market Handbook
The Freelance Photographer's Market Handbook has been described as the "photographer's bible" because of its comprehensive market listings. It is a 240-page publication that details over 700 markets where you can sell your pictures.
