Editorial Photographers
Started in the Bay Area by a small group of photographers in 1999, Editorial Photographers now has a membership of several thousand to whom it provides extensive information on legal and business matters.
It operates the OutreachEP program under which photographers mentor their less experienced colleagues.
Activities
To help photographers calculate how much they should charge, Editorial Photographers provides EP Editorial Estimator, a tool developed by Ken Richardson, which derives prices from the ad rate and circulation of the magazine in question.
OutreachEP
There is plenty of good information for photographers about the vexed question "How much do I charge?" -- in articles and on the OutreachEP part of the site. Some of it urgently needs renewing (particularly the pricing), but Ed Greenberg's "Top 10 List of things experienced photographers insist upon doing (or not), despite logic, law, money, advice and screaming" will probably never be out-of-date.
