Fogra Graphic Technology Research Association
Fogra Forschungsgesellschaft Druck e.V. (Fogra Graphic Technology Research Association) is a German organization that promotes new developments in print engineering and certifies processes and systems (such as virtual proofing). It has around 600 members, mostly graphic art businesses and suppliers, a third of whom are based outside Germany.
Research institute
Fogra also maintains its own research institute, with about 50 staff members including engineers, chemists and physicists. It is mentioned here because Fogra training and certification are an indication that a color print services supplier has the systems and expertise to produce quality work.
Conferences
Fogra organizes frequent conferences and seminars on color management and digital printing. There are also Fogra awards that are made to deserving recipients, such as media students of for outstanding social awareness and organizational expertise.
