New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography
Founded in 1938, the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography is the only qualifying body for professional photographers in New Zealand. It represents the interests of professional photographers, especially in copyright, legal and business matters, while also providing educational resources for its 300+ members.
Membership
Members of the NZIPP are wedding, portrait and commercial photographers from all over New Zealand who support, challenge, and encourage each other. NZIPP gives them professional recognition after they have been through a demanding qualification process to earn their Qualified Professional status.
Activities
As well as awarding qualifications, the NZIPP also runs the INFOCUS Conference and Iris Awards. The latter has categories such as Highest Scoring Colour Image and Overseas Photographer of the Year. A gallery of winners is on the NZIPP website.
