B/W Styler

B/W Styler lets you recreate the look of films, lens filters, lab effects and photo papers popular in traditional B/W photography. Even if your original color image is dull, it can turn it into a vibrant B&W conversion, with facilities for adding color tones, simulating film grain, and adding special effects. The enhancement tools include brightness and contrast, soft focus and glow -- and it even lets you put in some vignette blur and mist effects if you are so inclined.

Comment

From German developer Harald Heim at PhotoWiz, this is an impressive B&W solution. It has three user levels for inexperienced, intermediate and advanced users. Whereas the basic Photographer's Mode gives you a choice of presets within a single dialog, the top Expert Mode has more than 100 controls and nearly 200 local presets.

Like all the software from this vendor B/W Styler is well conceived and delivers what it promises.
