PixFiler
PixFiler is image catalog software that helps you organize your images, even if you have tens of thousands of them. It provides tools to make it easy to categorize and annotate them, provides hierarchical categories, and lets you make reports, prepare contact sheets and organize printing. Advanced features include extraction of Exif and IPTC metadata, bulk updating to update several fields at once, and an ability to find images that have been moved to different folders or even to different disks.

Created by Norwegian developer Baard Riiber who is himself a keen photographer, PixFiler is a second-generation product, the first being PhotoArchiver which lacked the bulk update facility. Written in C++ it is a stable and reliable product from a vendor who takes the trouble to explain his work in detail and is a Member of the Assosiation of Shareware Professionals.

BR Software was founded by Baard Riiber in 1999, but he says the work on PixFiler "started long before that." An expert in Ingres and Oracle relational databases, Riiber also has 30 years photographic experience.
