Smilebox
Smilebox is an online service that lets you combine your photos and music with hundreds of digital scrapbooking designs created by professional scrapbook artists. With it you can make animated scrapbooks, photobooks, slide shows, postcards, and greetings. To use the service you download a design, personalize it for the occasion you have in mind by adding images, video, music and captions, then email it to the recipient.
There are 3 levels of service: a basic, free design; a premium design; and a club subscription.
Comment
Smilebox is the kind of photo service that may very well appeal to scrapbookers. It offers a huge number of cheerful designs with a seasonal emphasis. Admittedly, it tends to put your scrapbook together as it thinks best, loading pictures automatically from your Windows folders -- but then, it often does know best!
Smilebox needs a fast broadband connection because it sends you a substantial amount of images and code (wait for the yellow bar to complete crawl across the naked rectangle!). There is no initial charge -- and no need to install software manually. It is worth checking out.
