RoboImport
RoboImport conducts file transfer from cameras (Canon) and card readers to computer. As it brings files into the PC it renames them automatically and places them into appropriate folders. At this point, one of the vendor's other programs (the PicaJet photo organizer) can take over and provide additional cataloging functions.
RoboImport uses default file/folder renamer schemes unless you choose to customize them by setting up renaming schemes of your own. This is a straightforward task and once in place it directs the software to put incoming images with their new filenames into the new folder structure.
Other features make RoboImport a particularly versatile image import utility: auto-rotation during transfer, separating of RAW+JPEG files into RAW and JPEG folders, batch conversion from RAW to Adobe DNG format, automatic fill-in of IPTC data fields, automatic backup to several locations, and GPS coordinate stamping. RoboImport preserves the Exif data when importing files from leading DSLR brands. Multilingual support is: German, Korean and Russian.
Comment
You can use RoboImport with PicaJet or other brands of image organizer, but you if you want to bring in files direct from a camera it has to be a Canon camera. There are many file renaming utilities available, but this one is a product that can be used by professional photographers. It has many features in common with Downloader Pro from Breeze Systems.
