CompuPic Pro
CompuPic Pro allows you to manage, view and use all the images, movies and sounds stored on your computer. It is a fast image browser (faster than any other on the market, according to the vendor) and it also has excellent batch conversion facilities. However large your image collection, CompuPic Pro makes light work of browsing it.
Features include batch editing with the ability to apply crop, resize, text and image watermarking to many images at once. There are image enhancement features such as auto-correction, red-eye removal, drop-shadow, and text effects. You can adjust brightness, contrast, color, and hue, as well as resize to any size and rotate to any angle.
CompuPic Pro's output facilities include online publishing with customized web pages and an option to create Photodex PictureCDs which include the viewing software. You can create Picture Index contact sheets and go on to print your photos at any size, or simply create screen savers and desktop wallpaper. Sharing is easy because the vendor supports a lot of online sites (and has one of its own). You can also use the integrated email feature.

CompuPic Pro is becoming a complete workflow product. One early criticism of it was that it lacked support for 48-bit TIFF files, but this has now been corrected. Its chief virtue is its amazing speed which enables you to search thousands of images "by eye" with a minimum of fuss. With its support for MPEG, AVI, and MOV formats, there is no better application for browsing media downloaded from the web.

Photodex
Founded in 1987, Photodex is one of the most well established software publishers. Based in Austin, Texas, it says it follows a policy of minimal hype, but places emphasis on meeting customers' expectations. It is well known for its professional slide show creation software.
