DxO Optics Pro
At its launch DxO Optics Pro was notable for being the most powerful software for making corrections for lens distortion, vignetting, lens softness, keystoning, horizon leveling and chromatic aberration. Its core routines are based on models of actual camera and lens performance. With ongoind development, however, it has become an all-round image enhancement package, capable of performing RAW conversion and color conversions that exploit the full range of available color space for RAW or JPEG files, plus many lighting and denoising techniques.
If you add DxO FilmPack, a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop and DxO Optics Pro, you can achieve the look of famous silver halide films such as Velvia, Ektachrome and Kodachrome, together with many more Fuji, Kodak and Ilford black-and-white films.
Comment
DxO Optics Pro takes optical correction to its logical limit, encompassing not only geometric distortions but also many other problems that can affect image quality. For example, it can process RAW files of shots taken at very high ISO and succeed in retaining detail that other software is unable to find.
Many photographers have come to look upon DxO Optics Pro as one of the best RAW converters around -- and they're right. Quite apart from its geometric manipulation, this is a very fine example of photo software.
