ArcSoft Cut-It-Out
ArcSoft Cut-It-Out is a plug-in for ArcSoft PhotoStudio or Adobe Photoshop that lets users separate objects in digital photos from their backgrounds, creating a mask. It has features similar to Photoshop's Extract command, but has been designed to be slightly easier to use. Its fine-tuning options let you attend to the edges and its smoothing tools help to cover up any mistakes.

If you want to fine tune the way you carry out object extraction, this could be the tool you need. ArcSoft is constantly in the process of beefing-up its image editing capabilities, Cut-It-Out being an example of a tool that may become part of a more advanced image editor than ArcSoft currently offers. It does its job well, but the price is high for a single-function plugin.
