Autopano Pro

Autopano Pro automates the process of creating panoramas. It starts by selecting the appropriate pictures from a folder, ignoring any that do not contribute to the scene. To set it going you just select "Detect Panorama" and the program does the rest. Afterwards, you can fine-tune the result using the "Vertical Tool" and "Auto leveling Tool." Its other key features include color correction and full HDR stitching.

Autopano Pro achieves this high degree of automation by using a proprietary and patented algorithm called SIFT which detects matching areas. It can do this faster and more accurately than the human eye. It also has integrated "Smartblend" technology to remove ghosting effects. Its color correction scheme (another unusual feature) equalizes the color and exposure of the component images.

Comment

Autopano Pro takes automation a step further with its ability to select the component images as well as stitch them. It has generated spin-off software from its abilty to create gigapixel panoramas. Both Autopano Giga and Autopano Pro software enable you to create panoramas up to several gigapixels in size.

Particularly worth noting are Autopano Pro's SmartBlend ghost-remover to correct moving people or objects, and its HDR stitching from bracketed images. These and other features help to make this software truly outstanding.
