PTgui
PTgui stands for "Graphical User Interface for Panorama Tools," Panorama Tools being the early set of stitching tools created by Helmut Dersch. Although Dersch's tools could handle most lens types and cope with many different formats and projections, they were difficult to use without an additional interface. Dutch developer Joost Nieuwenhuijse wrote PTGui as a graphical front-end that would enable anyone to use them, including those for correcting lens distortion.
PTgui is now a full featured photo stitching application that can stitch planar images, cylinders, spheres and cubes. It supports both rectilinear and fisheye lenses and several image file formats. It obtains lens details by reading Exif information. To align the images precisely you can insert control points (called "flags") manually, but the software can stitch most panoramas fully automatically.
Size output is virtually unlimited in PTgui, and you can easily create gigapixel images with it.
Comment
PTgui is a stable, reliable product with very good image quality and enough features to keep most photographers happy. It gives you superb results, especially when stitching multiple rows of images to make an ultra-high definition image.
With PTgui, you can create 360° cylindrical panoramas, 'flat' partial panoramas or spherical 360° x 180° panoramas. If you have a lot of work to do you can save settings to a template and batch process subsequent images. Highly recommended.
