Photovista Panorama is a popular package for creating 360-degree panoramas and real estate promotions. Its dozens of features include automatic lens detection, 2D vertical stitching, and a Java viewing tool with full customization.
Photovista Panorama comes in both Windows and Mac Business editions with broadly similar features -- and there is a home edition for consumers which is sold only via resellers and not direct from the iseemedia website.
You can use Photovista Panorama to create panoramas using practically any camera/lens combination. If you want to organize the pans into a virtual tour, however, you really need another product: Photovista Virtual Tour (which includes Photovista Panorama) and allows you to add hotspots to locations on the picture. Viewers who click on the hotspots are then taken to another picture or (in real estate applications) to another room.

With automatic warping, aligning, and blending, Photovista Panorama is a very capable package that anyone can use. Enthusiasts will not find it very challenging, but it aims to be a low-cost solution for popular use.
