Quixhibit
Quixhibit lets you download images to your computer, arrange them into photo galleries, then upload them to the web. Its name combines "quick" and "exhibit," to emphasize that this is a speedy way to put images online.
Quixhibit's styling tools enable you to choose a basic text index, a "contact sheet" of rows/columns or scrolling navigation bars. You can select font, background color, background image, page layout, and drop-shadows to add to the basic style. An optional captioning facility includes spell checking, while other features include cropping, rotation, and sorting. There is an integrated FTP client for uploading the gallery, plus context-sensitive help to guide the user through the whole process.
Comment
Although this is essentially a very basic program, it produces a clean, effective result that is likely to appeal to some photo enthusiasts. After all, a gallery needs only to have sensibly arranged thumbnails, a large central display area, plus good navigation.
Using Quixhibit you can create a scrolling navigation bar along the top of the frame and see the images displayed below -- just like the layout on DPReview.com. Check it out: it may be all you need.
