AKVIS Retoucher

AKVIS Retoucher is a specialist program for photo restoration and photo retouching. Once you have scanned the photos into your computer it removes defects from any that are damaged and reconstructs the missing parts by using information from surrounding areas.

AKVIS Retoucher removes scratches, stains and other defects; helps you to improve the composition of your photos by removing the date stamp and distracting details such as wires and refuse bins; and even lets you extend the photo canvas by recreating the image patterns in the blank areas.

Comment

AKVIS Retoucher combines the features of two previous modules: Retoucher and Stamp, once known as the "Restoration Bundle". It comes from a well established developer, based in the Russian city of Perm. Reviewers have found it reliable and effective. You can download a free 10-day trial from the vendor's site.

There are many AKVIS modules besides this one. Others include Chameleon (photo collage creation), Enhancer (brings out detail), Coloriage (photo colorizing program), Noise Buster (noise reduction), Sketch (converts photos to drawing), Decorator (texture-mapping tool), and LightShop (creates light effects).
