ACDSee Pro Photo Manager
ACDSee Pro is sold as a complete solution for digital photography, allowing the user to view, process, edit, organize, catalog, publish, and archive photo collections. However, it became established in the market mainly because of its excellent cataloging and sorting facilities. It offers comprehensive RAW support, fast processing of large files, and efficient image handling facilities. As an image editor it is not a true rival to Photoshop, but has many quick editing features and comes with full color management support for ICC and ICM profiles.
ACDSee Pro's features include visual tagging which allows you to find your pictures more quickly. Its RAW support has always been strong and it also has integrated support for Adobe's DNG (Digital Negative specification). It offers full control over white balance, exposure, sharpness and noise.
ACDSee Pro's publishing features include PDF creation, slide show creation with audio, customized web galleries, email with auto-resizing, high quality contact sheet printing, and uploaders to Flickr, SmugMug, Zenfolio and your FTP accounts.
Comment
ACDSee Pro is well worth the price for its image sorting capabilities alone, which have always been among its greatest strengths. It has had input from many professional photographers in the years since its launch -- and this has helped to make the program a usable, effective tool.
It could be argued that ACDSee Pro has not quite kept up with the furious pace of development in RAW processing, but points in its favor include a clean interface with a very large main panel, very good noise reduction algorithms, and a greater number of features than most equivalent products, including the ability to handle an exceptional number of file formats.
For the home user there is a much less expensive product called ACDSee Photo Manager, a fast, efficient organizer with management of over 100 file types.
