FixerBundle
FixerBundle consists of four pro-level plugins:
- FocusFixer, image-sharpening tool
- NoiseFixer, noise removal tool
- ShadowFixer, lifts shadow regions
- TrueBlur, adds realistic softness to images
Of these, the sharpening tool -- FocusFixer -- uses the vendor's LensFIT technology to restore detail and add clarity to the image. It can be used on specific parts of the image; it removes focus blur; and it works on both 8-bit (24-bit RGB) and 16-bit (48-bit RGB) images. The FocusFixer panel has Deblur (0 to 40 increments) and Threshold slider controls, together with pull-down menus to select the make and model of camera.
Comment
FixerBundle plugins are intended for serious photographers, hence they work on images that are already high quality. They are not intended for correcting common errors. All of them have been received enthusiastically by the professional photographic press.
The British Journal of Photography referred to the "enormous improvement in image quality" achieved by FocusFixer. ShadowFixer, too, is worth noting because of its exceptional ability to illuminate deep shade.
