GinaPRO

GinaPRO is a specialist plugin to the RAW converter Bibble, intended for the correction and enhancement of skin tones, making them appear to glow with health and vitality. Its interface has a stack of 18 slider controls arranged in three groups: "Blotch Fixer," "Skin Selection" and "Skin Adjustment." As with the developer's other products, you start at the top and work your way down the controls in a logical progression.

The human visual system is very sensitive to even the smallest changes in skin tones. These tones occupy quite narrow bands of the color gamut. GinaPRO gives you a high degree of control over color casts from reflections and it lets you make very minor adjustments to the specific hues and tones of human skin.

Comment

GinaPRO has one drawback: being a plugin to BibblePRO it has no way to directly access mouse positions, hence the user cannot point to an area of skin and make corrections.

All parts of the image that have similar coloration can therefore be affected inadvertently, although usually not many objects in the frame will be skin colored. If you recognize this limitation, the plugin works well on most images. One special feature: it lets you add noise to skin tones to mask overly smoothed skin.
