HumanEyes Capture3D for Photographers

HumanEyes Capture3D for Photographers creates a real ("peek-behind-it") 3D image from pictures taken with conventional photographic equipment such as an ordinary digital camera and a tripod/arm. It comes with guidelines for optimizing a 3D scene, but once you have taken suitable pictures, it goes to work using special algorithms to create the 3D effect.

You can use photographs taken with Capture3D either online or printed with the vendor's PrintPro 2.0 application which also includes the creative software. There is an upgrade to PrintPro for those who need it. In print form its intended use is for business cards, direct mail, product packaging, posters, and point of sale materials.

Other packages from the same vendor also exploit the lenticular effect and are aimed at designers (Creative3D for designers) and Printers (Producer 3D for printers).

Comment

Output from Capture3D works well, but is naturally dependent on the quality of the initial captures. The photographer needs to make sure that the image contains good depth cues from perspective, lighting, texture, occluded objects, and relative object sizes.

All these depth cues help to maximize the result of changing the camera position very slightly to create the potential for 3D when the images are animated. Some of the examples given by the vendor are certainly stunning -- and they play in a Java-based viewer.
