PhotoWatermark Professional
PhotoWatermark Professional is a comprehensive watermarking utility. It lets you add a mixture of text, drawing and graphic watermarks to your images, in styles that range from angled, outlined, gradient or texture filled text, to 3D shadowed, inner shadowed, embossed and engraved texts. It provides full control over the transparency settings between 0 and 100.
To achieve a consistent look to the watermarks it places on your photos, PhotoWatermark Professional uses five mechanisms: auto position, relative size, relative margin, image orientation selection and aspect ratio cropping. It supports automatically updated watermarks such as date time, age, file info, and automatic numbering, together with standard copyright symbols in all languages. It even lets you use vector watermarks which can scale without loss of quality: a professional touch for web sites that display images at a choice of different sizes.
PhotoWatermark Professional contains a built-in watermark file manager to help you manage multiple watermarks for separate purposes. As you would expect, it has efficient batch facilities, and these extend beyond watermarking to cropping, converting, resizing, renaming, enhancing, framing and printing. Novice users have the benefit of real-time hints, and the vendor insists that users can make their first watermark in just 60 seconds.

Visible and invisible: these are the two types of watermarking, of which PhotoWatermark Professional provides only the visible kind. The vendor points out that this saves you money because there is no pay-per-use policy such as those that DigiMarc charges for invisible watermarks. However, not everyone approves of watermarking, saying that photos are protected as long as you don't place large sizes or originals online. Even then, any photo on the Internet can be claimed as someone else's work.
If you can live with having a visible mark placed on the images you post online, you are likely to find this software useful. Its management and batch processing facilities are first-rate.
