inMotion
inMotion is a web-based solution for increasing the efficiency of the creative approval process. Based on the vendor's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform, it is offered as a monthly subscription with several levels of business plan available.
This is how it works: creative professionals post content to a secure workspace; reviewers are automatically notified to review the project online where they can add comments and edits; inMotion alerts the creative professional that an approval has been received, brings all the reviews together into a single capture, records the changes, adds time/date stamp to all activity, and updates the approval status for real-time progress reports.
inMotion is aimed at advertising agencies, printers, publishers, designers and other professionals in the graphic arts industry. It eliminates the need for expensive IT infrastructure while at the same time providing a high level of security, with 128-bit encryption available on top-tier systems. Features include Collective Access to allow clients to see all of their jobs in one location, job-tracking with Track-it ID, and full annotation facilities. A TeamTrack option lets the proofs pass through a "middle-man," such as an account executive, before going on to the end client for final approval.

inMotion's success speaks for itself. It was the world's first online proof and approval solution (formerly called PROOF-it-ONLINE) and has been an enormously popular application, bearing in mind that many companies go on to invest in virtual proofing systems of their own.
The vendor has responded to requests to add features, making it fit nicely with the way people in different companies (photo studio, ad agency, end client) need to collaborate. If you are tired of sending PDF files to-and-fro, here is another way of doing it.
