DSLR Camera Remote
DSLR Camera Remote is an iPhone/iPod touch app that lets you fire your Canon EOS or Nikon DSLR by remote control. The vendor describes it as "the next-generation cable release for your...DSLR camera."
DSLR Camera Remote lets you look through your camera's viewfinder remotely; remotely control the camera settings like shutter-speed, aperture, and white-balance; and then view the images shot on the camera from your iPhone or iPod touch.
Comment
To start using DSLR Camera Remote you just plug your camera into a network-capable host computer, launch the DSLR Camera Remote Server software, and your iPhone or iPod Touch discovers your camera automatically.
Being able to control and fire your camera remotely is a definite asset -- and there is no more up-to-date way of doing it than from an iPhone. It requires no Internet connection but it does need the Remote Server component, downloadable from the vendor's site.
